Jake Ellenberger was supposed to meet Tarec Saffiedine earlier this month at UFC Fight Night 34 in Singapore, but he suffered an injury that took him out of the event.
Now, it appears that fight will be re-booked following Saffiedine's win over Ellenberger's replacement, Hyun Gyu Lim.
Ellenberger posted on his new personal website today that he'd be fighting Saffiedine at UFC 172 in April, though that post has since been removed. If the fight is indeed on tap, it's a sensible re-booking and one to which Saffiedine himself has remained interested.
Saffiedine's win over Lim was his first in the UFC, following up on a win over Nate Marquardt to capture the Strikeforce Welterweight Championship in the final fight in that organization's history.
As for Ellenberger, he hopes to rebound from a decision loss to Rory MacDonald last July, a fight in which he'd likely agree he had his worst UFC performance to date. Prior to that, he himself had knocked out the aforementioned Marquardt.
UFC 172 takes place on April 26 from Baltimore, Maryland, headlined by the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship bout between Jon Jones and Glover Teixeira.
