"I'd like to say [I'm better at] everything. Still today, I've never given my opponent something they can say they are better. I like to have that confidence. I like to prove it too. Everyone says I am not as good of a striker, I am not good at this or that. I try to prove them wrong as much as I can... If I look past Robbie or don't give Robbie everything I can, he's likely to beat me. I have to focus on him as much as possible... There are couple signs he does that whenever he is going to load up on the power. I've watched a couple of his fights so far, you can tell when he is going for the kill. When he gives those signs I can do some things to prevent that from happening. I am not going to give away my secrets, but there are ways to prevent that."
-Johny Hendricks talks to fans during a chat with the Dallas Morning News about his fight with Robbie Lawler at UFC 171 in Dallas.
Penick's Analysis: Hendricks is all about confidence, and his ability to back that up in the cage is a big part of him being in this position. He clearly believes he's simply better than Robbie Lawler, but he's not going to let himself overlook what Lawler is able to do. He'll figure out ways he can take advantage of the things that Lawler does, and he'll try to implement that come March 15. If he can follow through, he'll capture that title that he's been solely focused on for the last couple of years. If he can't, he'll fall victim to the upset.
