Caol Uno's return to the Octagon looks to be coming at UFC 99 in Germany, according to a report at MMAJunkie.com. The report states that verbal agreements are in place between Uno and veteran lightweight Spencer Fisher for the event emanating from the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany on June 13.

It will be Uno's first appearance in the Octagon since a tumultuous 2003 that saw him fight B.J. Penn to a draw in a Lightweight Championship bout that resulted in the shut down of the lightweight division until a couple of years ago, as well as a 2nd round tko loss to Hermes Franca in September.

The veritable veteran has compiled a 10-5-1 record since his UFC stint in K-1 Heroes and DREAM. His last fight came in July of last year, where he lost to now WAMMA Lightweight Champion Shinya Aoki in the semifinals of the DREAM Lightweight Grand Prix at DREAM 5.

He's now looking to face off against Fisher, the ten fight UFC veteran with a professional record of 22-4. Coming off of two straight victories over Jeremy Stephens and Shannon Gugerty, respectively, Fisher's in need of a big win to exert himself in the top of the UFC lightweight division. With three of his four losses coming by way of decision, he's only been stopped once in his entire career. He's returning after minor surgery from an undisclosed injury according to the report.

Penick's Analysis: This should be a great test for both fighters coming off of considerable layoffs. Uno back in the Octagon is nothing short of awesome, and it's funny because I was just raving about his match with Joachim Hansen at K-1 Heroes 1 in yesterday's Writers' Roundtable. It's very exciting to have one of the original big names in the UFC's lightweight division back in the fold. This is a big fight for the first foray into Germany as well. Good news here.
