Anderson Silva is on the mend after surgery this weekend, back with family and thankful for the outpouring of emotion and support from fans after suffering a broken leg at UFC 168.
The former UFC Middleweight Champion posted an old picture online Sunday of him with his family, along with a message to everyone. The post is below, as is a translation of his comment:
"I want to thank all my fans and friends for their support and caring message, I'm fine now and I need to be with my family, a good rest with my children and wife will help me in recovery. Thank you Brazil."
Penick's Analysis: I'm glad to see he's in good spirits all things considered. It was such an unfortunate injury, and an awful way for things to end on Saturday night. Hopefully his rest and recovery goes well, and maybe, just maybe, we'll see him back in the cage again sometime in the future. No one can expect that at this point, but we'll all be hoping that UFC 168 isn't the final time seeing Silva in the cage.
