Carlos Condit has released a statement via his management team following Matt Brown's injury removal from their fight next week at UFC on Fox 9. He'll officially be off next week's card, with a bout between Joe Lauzon and Mac Danzig moved to the night's main card on Fox.
"I was greatly disappointed to hear of Matt Brown's injury," the statement read. "This was a fight that I was looking forward to immensely, and I know it was a fight the fans have been excited to see. When the fight does happen, I promise that the wait will be worth it.
"Right now I'm going to spend time with my family over the holidays, and hope that Matt heals up quickly so that we can reschedule this fight soon. Thanks to all of the fans out there for their support."
Penick's Analysis: Brown suffered a couple of herniated discs in his back, but hopefully it's not going to keep him out of action for too long. If he can return sooner than later, this fight can be re-booked, but they may get Condit back in sooner if it's going to take Brown a while to get back.
