Vitor Belfort recently turned down a fight with Tim Kennedy that the UFC wanted to put together for a fall event in Brazil, and his wife and manager Joana Prado said at the time he would only take a middleweight fight if it was for the title.
That led to UFC President Dana White saying he could fight his teammate Rashad Evans, a bout that neither would agree to, and after suggesting Chael Sonnen as an option, Prado now tells Brazil's Globo that he'd like to fight Dan Henderson a second time.
Henderson's coming off consecutive decision losses to Lyoto Machida and Rashad Evans. While he himself hasn't commented on the possibility of the fight, his jiu jitsu coach, Ricardo Feliciano, spoke to Fighter's Only and said it'd be a bout he'd would be interested in.
"Vitor is at the top and Henderson is coming off two decision losses," Feliciano said. "A victory over him would build us up. Hendo is already 205 lbs, this is his normal weight. If this bout happens in November, it will be excellent if included in GSP's card (UFC 167) in Las Vegas. I will pump him up. Vitor will regret [having] asked for this rematch!"
Penick's Analysis: A Belfort-Henderson fight works if Belfort insists on fighting at 205 lbs. If Henderson's willing to take that fight, it makes a lot of sense for him coming off two losses, and is probably the biggest name he'd be getting at this stage. If the UFC's interested in it, I'd expect we might be seeing that sometime soon.
