By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief Anthony Johnson will be making a quick return to action following his high kick highlight reel knockout of Kevin Burns at the Ultimate Fighter season eight finale when he takes on Luigi Fioravanti at Fight Night 17. MMAJunkie.com first reported on the bout this afternoon, stating that the fight as been verbally agreed upon and bout agreements are expected to be signed this week.
Fioravanti is coming off of a unanimous decision victory over Brodie Farber at Fight Night 16: Fight for the Troops, and has amassed an even 4-4 record in his UFC career. Johnson is 3-2 in the UFC, although one of those losses was the controversial eye poking incident in his first fight against Burns. He appealed that decision but the result was not overturned.
Fight Night 17 is scheduled for February 7th from the Sun Dome at the University of South Florida, and will be broadcast live on Spike TV.
