A fight between veterans of the UFC's long-running reality series The Ultimate Fighter is heading to Indianapolis this August, as the UFC confirmed Tuesday night that Zak Cummings will meet Ben Alloway on Fox Sports 1.
Cummings took part in The Ultimate Fighter 17 this spring, knocking out Nik Fekete to get into the house and onto Chael Sonnen's team. He fell to a member of Jon Jones' team, Dylan Andrews, in his next bout, losing a majority decision in their two-round fight. He was one of the only fighters from that season not to fight at the Final event in April, with Tor Troeng and Adam Cella being the other two as their debut fight happened a week earlier in Sweden.
He'll now step into the Octagon against Alloway, who made his debut in the UFC in December out of "TUF: The Smashes," the Team UK vs. Team Australia international version of the show. Alloway lost a split decision to the season's eventual runner-up, Brad Scott, during his time on the show, but made an impression in his official UFC debut with a knockout win over fellow "TUF: The Smashes" competitor Manuel Rodriguez. He couldn't follow that up, though, as he lost a decision to Ryan LaFlare in April at UFC on Fuel 9 in Sweden.
The UFC's Fox Sports 1 event in Indianapolis takes place on Aug. 28, headlined by a welterweight rematch between former Interim Champ Carlos Condit and the man who defeated him in his UFC debut back in 2009, Martin Kampmann.
