The UFC added two new fights to the UFC 164 event in Milwaukee this summer, as Derek Brunson will meet Yoel Romero, and Magnus Cedenblad will take on Jared Hamman.
Brunson made his UFC debut in December of last year, defeating Chris Leben on short notice. He was supposed to return to action earlier this month, but his UFC on Fuel 10 opponent, Ronny Markes, was injured in a car accident the day of the weigh-in.
Romero made his own UFC debut in April, a year and a half after his last appearance in the cage in Strikeforce. He got back on the winning track after a KO loss to Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante in that final Strikeforce appearance, knocking out Clifford Starks at UFC on Fox 7.
Cedenblad had been reportedly linked to a fight with Bubba McDaniel three days earlier at UFC on Fox Sports 1 "Condit vs. Kampmann," but when McDaniel's fight on the card was announced it was against someone other than Cedenblad. He takes on Hamman, who needs to win to avoid his release after two consecutive losses and a 2-4 mark through six fights in the organization.
UFC 164 is headlined by a UFC Lightweight Championship bout between Benson Henderson and T.J. Grant, emanating from the Bradley Center on Aug. 31.
