Junior Dos Santos beat a very game Mark Hunt in extremely impressive fashion with a spinning heel kick followed up by a lights out punch to the downed Hunt.
Dos Santos landed his signature overhand right that won him the title when he faced Cain Velasquez back in 2011. This strike knocked Hunt down, but it did not take him out. Dos Santos did not move in on the dazed hunt and the fight went to a second round. Again Hunt was hit with some heavy leather, but he landed some shots of his own before being taken down by Dos Santos. Hunt got up with seconds left in the round.
The third round had both men swinging heavy and wild with Hunt getting caught with a big left hand. Dos Santos surprised him with the spinning kick and finished with a punch putting Hunt to sleep late in the round. Hunt eventually got up and staggered to his corner while Dos Santos jumped out of the cage to go see Mike Tyson. (The fighters on the card tonight are all about Mike Tyson.)
This puts Dos Santos right back at the top of the heap possibly looking at a fight against the winner of Cain Velasquez vs. Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva.
At 1:00 AM Eastern, you can listen to Rich Hansen and CJ Tuttle discuss everything that happened tonight. The UFC 160 Post-Mortem can be heard at THIS LINK.
