Glover Texiera is stopped James Te Huna with an arm in guillotine at the halfway point of the first round. Texiera shot in early, but let the leg go and both men proceeded to swing heavy. Te Huna was taken down shortly after and his neck was open when he tried to get up leaving it ripe for the choke. Glover admitted after the fight that he does not like pulling guard, but the opportunity was there to get the submission.
Texiera, #4 Light Heavyweight, is now 21-2 in his career and 4-0 in the UFC. His post fight thoughts were with his idol Mike Tyson, but he might be refocusing on a fight with Jon Jones in the not so distant future.
Te Huna's four fight win streak was snapped putting him at 16-6 in his career. His UFC record is 5-2 with his only UFC losses coming by submission. Clearly, that is part of his game that he needs to work on moving forward.
