Gray Maynard came out trying to work his way back to another Lightweight Title shot at UFC 160, but he was stopped in his tracks by ready T.J. Grant.
Both men came eager to exchange hands, but a right hand from Grant stunned Maynard and it was downhill from there. Maynard was knocked down by Grant and then was hit with two solid left hands, a knee as he tried to stand up, and a another right hand to finish the fight with TKO.
Maynard was trying to hold on during what seemed like a long final sequence/beating, but he could not hold on as the ref gave him more than enough time to attempt to stand and defend himself.
This is a massive win for Grant who is now looking forward to fight with Benson Henderson for the Lightweight Title.
