Mark Hunt's going to come into UFC 160 with a major disadvantage, but he's going to get to fight Junior dos Santos on the card in Las Vegas. Hunt revealed on Sunday that he's been granted the work visa that has been withheld this past week, keeping him stuck in New Zealand, and that means he'll get to fly into the UFC this week.
The UFC had secured Roy Nelson as a potential replacement in the event Hunt wasn't granted a visa, but Hunt and the UFC remained confident they could get Hunt's situation figured out by this weekend. They've done that, and though he'll have to deal with some severe jet lag in the week leading into the fight, he'll at least get to fight.
Penick's Analysis: This is good news for the card, because no one wanted to lose this matchup. Hunt's recent run has been incredible, and even with the jet lag issue this remains a major opportunity for him, and though it's something that plays against him, the fact that he's getting to fight is a complete positive now. So it brings an end to a tumultuous week that has kept him in his home country, and he'll hope he acclimates well enough to the time difference in a shorter adjustment period.
