Former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza had already proven the level of fighter he was in January when he ripped through Ed Herman, but he put a stamp on that in his UFC debut on Saturday night at UFC on FX 8.
In his official UFC debut, Souza dominated in a late notice fight against Chris Camozzi, and halted Camozzi's own winning streak at four when he scored a first round submission win.
Souza was on a different level from the start, but that was especially the case once the fight hit the ground. Souza planted Camozzi on his back, and after a few short exchanges, he passed to an arm triangle choke, hopped over to side control, and forced Camozzi to go unconscious within a matter of seconds.
It was incredible work from Souza, and secured his first official win inside the Octagon. After his victory, he said he wanted the winner of the UFC on FX 8 main event between Vitor Belfort and Luke Rockhold.
