By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief At a Q&A session today for UFC Fight Night 16, Dana White clarified the Welterweight Title picture following January's tilt between GSP and B.J. Penn. MMAWeekly.com reported on the Q&A, saying that when asked if St. Pierre would go on to face Anderson Silva if he defeats B.J., Dana said "No. If he beats B.J. Penn, he'll fight Thiago Alves. And then, if he beats Thiago, maybe we'll start talking about them meeting at a catch weight fight or GSP going right to 185 and fighting."
He also said that should B.J. win that fight, Alves would get a shot against him for the belt. This would mean the lightweight division would be held up yet again, and Kenny Florian would continue to be on the edge without a title shot of his own.
