After a great performance at UFC 155 against Joe Lauzon, Jim Miller is eying a fight against the man who he replaced at the December event in Las Vegas, Gray Maynard.
The two fought almost four years ago, with Miller suffering his first loss in the Octagon in a three round fight. Now that he's put forth one of his most impressive performances in the UFC, Miller wants to avenge that first loss.
"It will be four years ago in March," Miller said in an interview with MMAjunkie.com. "To assume it would be a similar fight would be kind of ignorant to what we're capable of as fighters."
"I guarantee you nobody else is asking to fight Gray."
Miller isn't sure when Maynard will be able to return from injury, but he'd like to get back into the cage on April 27 when the UFC returns to his home state of New Jersey at UFC 159.
Penick's Analysis: A Miller-Maynard rematch could be really good, and it would give Miller a chance to avenge one of his only losses in the UFC. However, a more attractive option might still be Strikeforce Champ Gilbert Melendez if Anthony Pettis gets the next UFC Lightweight Championship bout with Ben Henderson.
