UFC flyweight Ian McCall was arrested earlier this month on an outstanding warrant in Irvine, Calif., and on Thursday he was finally released from the Orange County Central Jail where he'd spent the previous 16 days.

McCall was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, a charge which stemmed from a June incident that subsequently violated his parole. The warrants were issued when he failed to appear in court due to a miscommunication. According to McCall's attorney earlier this month, it was an unpaid ticket that led to the license getting suspended and ultimately the arrest warrant.

"Hopefully, he's learned his lesson and he'll get back on track," McCall's trainer, Colin Oyama, said in an interview with MMAjunkie.com. "He's got to grow up and realize that he's a pro athlete and he's got to be responsible. I think he's got nobody to blame but himself. If you get a citation, man, take care of it."

"He'll be back training tonight. I hope he's a lot smarter this time around."

Oyama added that McCall has the support of the UFC, and is expecting to return to the cage by November.

Penick's Analysis: It is a learning situation and a wake up call for McCall, who is still in the midst of trying to move on from past mistakes. The important thing is that he's out, he's getting healthy, and he can try to move forward from here. Hopefully he's got taken care of whatever needs to be taken care of, and this isn't a situation that will continue to affect him in the near future.
