The UFC's return to the UK has a headliner, as The UK Telegraph's Gareth Davies reports on Twitter that heavyweights Stefan Struve and Stipe Miocic will square off in the main event of UFC on Fuel 5 in Nottingham, England.
Both fighters picked up wins last month at UFC 146 in Las Vegas, with Struve submitting Lavar Johnson and Miocic taking out Shane Del Rosario by TKO in the second round.
The 24-year-old Struve has won five of his last six fights, including three straight in the last year. Miocic, meanwhile, kept his undefeated streak intact with the win over Del Rosario, moving to 9-0 overall in his MMA career.
The September 29 event in England is the UFC's first in the U.K. in 2012, and their first since last November's UFC 138 event.
Penick's Analysis: There are already some complaints from fans in the U.K. about this being the main event, but considering it's a Fuel TV card I'm not sure what they were expecting. This is a fine main event for Fuel TV, and it's a good heavyweight fight between two solid young fighters. Neither is going to challenge for the UFC Heavyweight Title anytime soon, and they aren't the biggest names, but considering the level of card that this will be for Fuel TV, this is in line with the other fights the UFC has put on the cable network.
DON'T GO YET... WE SUGGEST THESE MMATORCH ARTICLES, TOO!
