The UFC's first event in the UK for 2012 now officially has its first two matchups, as the UFC announced on Monday that bantamweight Brad Pickett and Yves Jabouin will square off on the Sept. 29 card, as will lightweight Ultimate Fighter contestants Andy Ogle and Akira Corassani.
Pickett, a native of London, England, remains one of the more highly regarded fighters in the bantamweight division after his performance over Damacio Page in April. Though he had a setback against current Interim Title challenger Renan Barao in his UFC debut, a win over Jabouin would do a lot to continue moving him up the ladder in the division.
Jabouin has won three straight fights in the UFC since moving to bantamweight after losing his organizational debut last April at UFC 129. Most recently, Jabouin defeated Jeff Hougland by decision at UFC on Fuel 3 last month.
Ogle competed on the most recent season of The Ultimate Fighter on FX, but a medical suspension from the NSAC following his quarterfinal loss kept him off the season's Finale on June 1. Ogle asked UFC President Dana White for a spot on this card, and he's been granted one. Corassani, who competed on season 14 of the reality series last fall, also will be making his official UFC debut after injuries kept him out of his show's finale, as well as a planned debut bout in April.
The Sept. 29 event will take place from the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, England, and is expected to air in the U.S. on Fuel TV.
