Two featherweight prospects will square off in Atlantic City this June, as the UFC announced on Friday that Jimy Hettes and Steven Siler will square off at UFC on FX 4 on June 22.
Hettes made a splash in his last bout, looking immensely impressive in a decision win over Nam Phan. That followed up a submission win over Alex "Bruce Leroy" Caceres, and brought the 24-year-old's career record to a perfect 10-0.
Siler has looked impressive in his two UFC outings as well. Entering via the Ultimate Fighter's 14th season last December, Siler defeated Josh Clopton at the TUF 14 Finale, and then followed up with an impressive performance against longtime UFC vet Cole Miller at UFC on FX 2.
UFC on FX 4 is headlined by a five round lightweight bout between Gray Maynard and Clay Guida, and is the UFC's third free event on FX in the month of June.
Penick's Analysis: This is a solid next fight for both guys. There's no need to bring either along in speedy fashion, and this represents a good fight to find out where they're at. Hettes looked immensely impressive in his last fight, and should he continue to do so he'll rise up the division quick enough. Siler as well looked good against Miller, and if he can pull off a win over Hettes that would be an impressive feat.
