There's still no official word as to why Nick Diaz will be "unable to compete" in a rematch against Carlos Condit, as reported on Wednesday, but his manager Cesar Gracie has confirmed to multiple outlets that the fight will not happen.
In a brief statement to ESPN.com, Gracie said the fight would not happen, and made it sound like his hands were tied in regards to why.
"Yeah, I said that [there will be no rematch]. But that's all I can say," Gracie stated. "I can't say anything else, I can't do anything."
"Quote that if you want to. There is not going to be a rematch. Other than that, that's all I can say."
Penick's Analysis: Until a more definitive statement is made or reason given, then speculation from some will continue, though the rumor making the rounds is that we're all waiting for comment from the Nevada State Athletic Commission. However, until that time, there's nothing more to go on other than the fact that the rematch is not happening.
