When UFC 137 was initially announced for last October with a Welterweight Title bout between Georges St-Pierre and Nick Diaz, there were rumblings that the fight would be featured on another edition of the UFC Primetime series. Ultimately, that fight never came to pass, on that event or the next planned date at UFC 143, but Diaz is still going to find himself in the Primetime setting.
The first edition of "UFC Primetime" on FX will feature Diaz and Carlos Condit in their preparations for an Interim Welterweight Championship bout at UFC 143 on February 4.
The three-part special will begin immediately after the UFC's first event on the FX network on January 20 at 11PM ET/8PM PT. Subsequent episodes will air on January 27 and February 3, with replays airing on Fuel TV.
Penick's Analysis: This will be a great way to introduce both Diaz and Condit to a wider audience, and it's nice to see the Primetime special used with some new blood. Both fighters will benefit greatly from the exposure, and the UFC should hopefully see some added viewership to their pay-per-view meeting after being featured on the program as well.
