UFC QUOTABLES: B.J. Penn - "James Toney is God's gift to MMA"

"What’s worse than having the WWF champ as our heavyweight champ? That ain’t worse than having James Toney come on and win a fight... It’s great for the sport. James Toney is God’s gift to MMA right now. He’s promoting the sport. He’s telling everybody to go out and buy tickets. You can’t ask for a better person. What James Toney is doing is putting more money into everybody’s pockets."

-B.J. Penn talks to Ariel Helwani at MMAFighting.com about James Toney coming to the UFC and fighting at UFC 118 this Saturday.

Penick's Analysis: He's actually got a point. Toney's presence on this card, and the UFC's pushing of this fight with Randy Couture, could lead to more eyes on the event. And having Toney win on Saturday may not be any worse than had Lesnar come in and beat Frank Mir right away. Both had one main discipline coming in, so if Toney is able to utilize that to defeat Couture it will be what it is, but it won't hurt the UFC or MMA at all.
