The fight was originally supposed to take place in December in Memphis, TN, at UFC 107, but Jackson took a hiatus from the UFC to film the upcoming A-Team movie. The two built the fight up throughout their time on TUF, with both launching comments at the other on multiple occasions. The fight will finally take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. Said Dana White in the official announcement, "“It’s no secret that Rampage Jackson and Rashad Evans don’t like each other, and this rivalry has gotten more and more intense in the last few months. I can guarantee you that neither one of these guys wants to lose to each other, this fight is going to be insane." Link to UFC.com official announcement Penick's Analysis: The official announcement confirms the event that was already expected for the 29th, and now the real hype for this fight can kick back into gear. It really took away from last season while watching episode after episode with both fighters trash talking and getting in the other's face when everyone watching knew the fight wouldn't be coming once the show was over. Thankfully they'll now get their shot at each other on this card, and we didn't have to wait over a year to see them face off.
