UFC NEWS: Kingsbury vs. Al-Hassan at UFC 104 in October

The UFC's return to Los Angeles and the Staples Center for UFC 104 on October 24th has a new undercard addition, as MMAWeekly.com reports that light heavyweights Kyle Kingsbury and Razak Al-Hassan have agreed to face each other on the event.

Kingsbury was a cast member on the eighth season of the Ultimate Fighter, though he was defeated in his first round bout after making it to the house. He then lost a decision to Tom Lawlor at the Ultimate Fighter 8 Finale last December.

Al-Hassan has also been out of action since December, though it's amazing he'll even be ready by October. In his bout with former WEC Champ Steve Cantwell at the Fight for the Troops event, Hassan was on the receiving end of one of the most gruesome looking submissions in UFC history when he refused to submit to a deep armbar and had his arm bent at the elbow the opposite of it's intended direction.

He was recently cleared to begin training again and amazingly suffered no career threatening injuries from the hold.

UFC 104 is set to air live on pay-per-view from the Staple Center in Los Angeles, CA, on October 24th, headlined by a Light Heavyweight Championship bout between Lyoto Machida and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.

Penick's Analysis: The armbar loss for Hassan was one of the most brutal things seen in this sport. It looked worse than Frank Mir's arm break of Tim Sylvia and was on par with Corey Hill's leg break from that same night in terms of cringe-worthiness, and it's very good to see that he didn't suffer any permanent injury from it. Kingsbury's going to need a win in this fight or the American Kickboxing Academy product will likely find himself outside of the Octagon.
