Georges St. Pierre's next Welterweight Title defense looks to be coming together for a planned March 11, 2010 event at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.

According to multiple published reports, GSP's expected to face Dan Hardy in the main event of UFC 111, which would mark the UFC's first trip to New Jersey since UFC 78.

Hardy was awarded the Title shot after defeating Mike Swick at UFC 105 earlier this month. The win pushed Hardy to 4-0 in the UFC and increased his winning streak to seven straight.

The Champ will defend his Title for the fourth time, and the first since defeating Thiago Alves this July at UFC 100. He suffered a torn abductor in that bout that he has been rehabilitating in preparation for his next defense.

Penick's Analysis: If they don't suffer any more setbacks to their scheduled main events, and let's face it this is becoming par for the course, then they are getting set up for a Title being defended every other event from February to May. Right now they've got Silva v. Belfort in February, GSP vs. Hardy two events later in March and then Machida vs. Shogun II in May. This is going to be by far the toughest fight Dan Hardy's ever been in, but for GSP this is a fight he will be highly favored and wholly expected to win. At any rate, this will be a better main event for the New Jersey fans than the last time the UFC visited and brought Rashad Evans and Michael Bisping in the headliner.
