After a disappointing performance in a first round loss to Thomasz Drwal at last weekend's Ultimate Fighter season nine finale, Mike Ciesnolevicz finds himself out of the UFC, according to a report from MMAWeekly.com.
After jumping up in weight and taking a fight with Neil Grove on short notice for his UFC debut at UFC 95, Ciesnolevicz's second bout with the UFC was at his natural light heavyweight division. After picking up the win in that first UFC bout, however, things would not go as well against Drwal.
Ciesnolevicz failed to make weight and had to surrender 20% of his purse to Drwal, and then he failed to make it out of the first round. He's now hoping to get right back to action to try to string together some wins and find himself back in the Octagon.

Penick's Analysis: Ciesnolevicz had waited for quite some time to get his shot at the UFC, and it's a bit surprising that he was released after a 1-1 start. It's more telling of him coming in overweight and not having an impressive performance in an extremely tough and packed division at light heavyweight. If he can string together some wins he may still get another shot, but for now it's back to the drawing board.
