THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER REPORT
MAY 19, 2010
AIRED ON SPIKE TV

Kyacey Uscola calls his wife so he can talk to her about the birth of his son, who was just born. He also discusses his upcoming fight against Kris McCray. Later that day, Kris and Kyacey talk about their fight. Kyacey believes that he's the favorite. Both guys seem very ready. Tito Ortiz won't coach during this fight, preferring to let them fight it out themselves.

FIGHT- Kyacey Uscola vs. Kris McCray
Kyacey has a 1 inch height and a 2.5 inch reach advantage. Steve Mazzagatti is the referee.

ROUND 1- They start out swinging away. Kyacey is getting the better of the stand-up. They circle a few times. Kyacey hurts Kris badly with a leg kick. Kyacey charges in and goes for a takedown, but he isn't able to get it. They clinch against the cage. Kris keeps trying to go for a knee to the body, but Kyacey blocks it. Neither guy's really looking to advance position. The ref separates them, and warns Kris of low blows. They trade shots. Kris with a nice legkick. They collide and almost go to the ground, but keep it standing. Kris almost gets a monster slam, but Kyacey negates it. Kris is on top, and nearly has Kyacey's back. Kris works a little ground-and-pound as the round ends.

ROUND 2- Kyacey rushes Kris, and they clinch on the cage. Kyacey hits Kris with a nice elbow, but Kris throws Kyacey to the ground. Kris is on top in side control. Kris grabs a sick-looking arm lock and twists Kyacey's elbow backwards for the tapout.

WINNER- Kris McCray by Submission

Chuck Liddell, Tito, and Dana White get together to decide the quarterfinal match-ups. Chuck has no ideas about what the match-ups should be. Tito and Dana agree, Chuck doesn't. Then Tito and Dana start arguing about the match-ups. The main contention point seems to be Court McGee and who he should fight. Dana finally sends the other two out.

UFC Undisputed 2010 looks to be an improved version of last year's game, as it should be. I doubt it'll be perfect, but as long as they fix the glitch where you couldn't submit the computer in Career mode it'll be a much better game.

Dana enters to announce the quarterfinal match-ups. The fights are-
Nick Ring vs. Court McGee
Kyle Noke vs. Kris McCray
Brad Tavares vs. Seth Baczynski
Jamie Yager vs. Josh Bryant

Tito is very confident that his guys will win all 4 fights. Chuck also think all his guys will win. Forrest Griffin comes in with a copy of UFC Undisputed 2010 that all the guys are allowed to play. Cross-promotion, baby. A lot of the guys seem to be really digging the game. James Hammortree as Tito knocks out Forrest as himself in the game.

Nick is at the doctor. He has very little tissue in his knee. Nick gets very emotional as he says that he basically tore his ACL. It's a matter of the possibility of long-term damage to his knee, or withdrawing. Dana comes to the house as we cut to commercial. That's never a good sign.

Dana and Nick go outside to talk. Dana wants to see if Nick will continue, to see if his wants to try to fight. Nick doesn't want to fight. Dana seems disappointed, and I'm sure he's upset and thinks Nick doesn't have the heart. I think Nick might be making the right move, it's hard for me to question another man's toughness and pain threshold. I don't know, though. Joe Henle thinks that he's the one that will get the chance to be in the quarterfinals. James goes outside and runs up to Dana to say that he wants to fight. Dana seems impressed, and gives James the spot. Joe is upset that he didn't get the spot.

The weigh-in goes uneventfully. Both coaches are confident in their guys. Both guys are confident in themselves.

FIGHT- Court McGee vs. James Hammortree
James has a 5 inch height advantage. The reach is even. Herb Dean is the referee.

ROUND 1- James works his jab early. Court goes for a takedown, but James stuffs it. They're tentative. Both guys are looking for their opening. James kicks, Court grabs it and gets on James' back. They go the ground, with Court on James. They separate. Court with a legkick. James with a straight left. They clinch against the cage. Court gets a takedown. They stand and separate, though. Court nearly connects with a huge kick and punch. Court goes for a takedown, but James resists it. They start slugging. Court with a spinning back kick. James rushes him and gets on top. Court reverses and gets on top as the round ends.

ROUND 2- They trade big shots. James rushes Court into the cage. Court grabs a guillotine and finishes the fight while standing up. A standing guillotine? Whoa. That's impressive. James is upset with himself. Chuck is pumped.

WINNER- Court McGee by Submission

The first fight this week was pretty good. Kyacey and Kris had a somewhat sloppy fight, but Kris showed good skill by finishing Kyacey with a submission. Kris seems to be more the type to pound out a win caveman-style. He did good to submit a guy with so many fights under his belt.

The second fight was also somewhat sloppy, but a good one. Court finishing it with a standing guillotine was very nice. I didn't think Court had it in him. I also didn't think that James would let himself get caught like that. Now Court has moved on to the semifinals and he's looking good. I wouldn't call him the front-runner by any means, but he's really shown himself well. The key to winning this season may just be staying healthy enough to actually fight.

NEXT WEEK- Tito has some bad news, and the fight between Chuck and Tito is in jeopardy, plus 2 more fights

"There's still a large contingent of people, that they just want to see these guys almost die, or the other guy almost die and come back, and sometimes fights are like that. Certainly they are.
