B.W. via iPhone: Not sure if it is just me but Scott Coker needs to make Alistair Overeem defend his belt. I'm tired of watching him get spoonfed people in Dream and K1. People want to see champions fight not just sit on a title. Since Rogers was most likely in line for that title shot it should be Fedor's. Overeem has even made a few comments in Japan about facing Fedor. I know people are screaming for Lesnar but there are some big names coming out of Holland, Japan, and more. Daniel Ghita is another I would love to see in a cage. Well there is my two cents. Plain and simple these two avoided each other in Japan so now it's time to see it here in the states.

Big Joe Calderon via email: (a) Which fighter who is available to Strikeforce do you think has the best chance to beat Fedor: Alistair Overeem; his striking is comparable to Fedor's, he has the experience facing big name opponents, and he needs a big introduction to mainstream America... (b) Who is your pick for a dream opponent for Fedor of all fighters no matter what their current affiliation: Randy Couture for nostalgia's sake (a fight 2+ years in the making) or Brock Lesnar (just to have him get arm barred ala Hong-Man Choi)... (c) Who should be Brett Rogers's next opponent: Alistair Overeem (see above), Andre Arlovski; if he sticks with punching and stays away from kicks (which Fedor used to beat him with last time). Not many other big name heavyweights in Strikeforce as of now, aside from Werdum.

J.J. Barrett via Blackberry: The only person with Strikeforce that had a shot was Brett Rogers. The dream matchup I think would be Brock Lesnar. His stregnth and wrestling ability may be enough to overwhelm Fedor.

Zack via email: After seeing that fight with Brett Rogers, I was reassured of a couple things. Fr one, Fedor is not the best heavyweight or pound-for-pound. He may have once been the best heavyweight, but never in my eyes has he been the P4P. Anderson Silva holds that title. As far as fighters, Strikeforce has to contend with Fedor, the answer is none. If I had to consider some guys that I feel could compete and even beat Fedor, Cain Valesquez comes to mind real quick, plus Shane Carwin and Junior Dos Santos. I pick these guys for their better hands, especially Junior. Fedor has terrible hands. He fights fat guys who can't dodge a slow telegraphing punch to save their lives. Rogers had a terrible ground game, but he still out muscled Fedor with incredible ease. Fedor tried a bunch of subs, armbar, arm triangle, kimura... all of which Rogers just rolled out of. I think Cain could dominate Fedor's ground game. I could go on. Finally, I would like to say, all of this is an opinion of the Fedor of NOW, as I elluded to that by saying he may have once been the best heavyweight. He is a great fighter, an incredible achievment, but I feel if he came to the UFC he wouldn't clean house like many feel he would. Oh, and one more thing, after watching that fight card, it's no wonder the UFC IS KING. Just the presentation and commentary alone should be reason enough why StrikeFarce sucks and poorly represents MMA

Make your case for why Fedor would likely win or lose against the opponents you choose, also. Send to mmatorch@gmail.com. We will run responses in the "Torch Feedback" section this week.
