Williams' MMA News Blog: Florida Launches Preliminary Investigation into Petruzelli Payout

Following a widespread outcry from the sports media, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (parent department of the State Boxing Commission) told ESPN.com Thursday that it had initiated a preliminary investigation into the payout circumstances of the Seth Petruzelli/Kimbo Slice fight.
The day following the bout, Petruzelli used language in a radio interview that strongly implied Elite XC had paid him a substantial bonus to not take Slice to the ground. Since then, Petruzelli has claimed his comments were misconstrued.
