TNA wrestler/professional MMA fighter Bobby Lashley is scheduled for his next fight on October 3 against 44-year-old "journeyman fighter" Ron Waterman, according to insidefights.com
Lashley (4-0) is scheduled to fight Waterman on Saturday, October 3 in Denver. Both men are from Colorado, which should help boost ticket sales with a local flavor to the fight. Waterman lives in Greeley, Colo., which is one hour away from Denver.
Waterman also has a pro wrestling background. He was under a developmental contract with WWE and trained at Ohio Valley Wrestling. He wrestled on some house show tours while also focusing on his MMA career.
Lashley's latest MMA fight was against Bob Sapp in June. Waterman last fought in November 2008 before Lashley had his first professional MMA fight.
The October 3 date does not appear to conflict with his TNA pro wrestling dates. TNA will be on a European tour in late September and early October before a set of TV tapings in Orlando on October 5 and 6. Lashley's TNA schedule calls for him to work PPVs and TV events, but not live events.
The fight card is being promoted by Prize Fight Promotions, who promoted the Lashley vs. Sapp card in Mississippi two months ago. Of note, the fight card won't be taking place at the Pepsi Center. Vince McMahon's favorite organization already has a Colorado Avalanche NHL hockey game scheduled for the afternoon.

"There's still a large contingent of people, that they just want to see these guys almost die, or the other guy almost die and come back, and sometimes fights are like that. Certainly they are. But sometimes you get technical masterpieces too, and to hate a beautiful, technical fight - you're not really a fight fan...

"There was a lot of poison going on around there and I'm really disappointed because we had a good thing going. It was a good thing and I think people's egos got in the way. Well, not people just Javier, his ego got in the way, and too many cameras in the gym and him trying to build himself up and his brand, his AKA brand...
