With UFC Fight Night 51 overlapping the WSOF 13 broadcast tonight, we're bringing a delayed report tonight. Follow along whether you watched earlier tonight or if you want to find out what happened on the card!

FIGHT ONE: TOM MARCELLINO VS. FRANKIE PEREZ (LIGHTWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: After a few kicks from Perez, Marcellino nearly landed a spinning back fist. Things got a bit tentative from both. Perez landed a knee. He landed a hard body kick as Marcellino leaned in. Perez landed a hard leg kick that knocked Marcellino off balance. Perez clinched. Marcellino turned him around. Perez nearly scored a slam. He tried to sneak behind to Marcellino's back. They jockeyed for position for a while, with neither gaining much edge in the clinch. Marcellino finally scored a takedown, but Perez popped up and landed a right hand to back him off. Perez landed a hard combo. He connected to the body. He kept pressure on with a leg kick. Perez landed a hard right hand after avoiding a takedown. Marcellino popped to his feet and Perez landed a huge flying knee with some more punches. Marcellino shot in and got stuffed. Perez sprawled. Marcellino got to his feet, but ate a few strikes into a clinch before the horn.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Perez. Lots of damage done there in the final minute, nearly had that stopped.

ROUND TWO: Perez came ahead aggressive. The WSOF had a backstage interview airing mid-round with Cody Bollinger's coach. Distracting to cut split screen into a fight like that. Perez stayed the early aggressor. Marcellino tried to circle around the outside. He got caught in the gut with a strike. He shot in, got stuffed, and then Perez crushed him backward with a knee to the body. Marcellino threw an upkick and hit Perez right in the groin, leading to a brief stoppage. After a brief delay, Perez came straight back ahead. Marcellino was essentially on the run here, trying to avoid combinations. Perez slipped on a head kick attempt. Both missed a few strikes. Perez ducked and landed a nice counter right. He ate a couple strikes, then came back with a body punch. Perez then shot in and nearly pulled off a slam. He took Marcellino's back standing and tried to drag him down. He finally dragged him down, but Marcellino popped back to his feet. They stalled out in the clinch. Marcellino tried to grab a headlock, but Perez got behind him in the clinch before the horn.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Perez. Another clear round, though he wasn't attacking as effectively as in the first round.

ROUND THREE: Marcellino quickly shot in, got stuffed, and ate some strikes on the way back up. Perez landed a couple more strikes as they separated. Perez dropped Marcellino with a brutal leg kick. May have damaged his knee. He landed more kicks as Marcellino looked to throw kicks to Perez's legs from off his back. Marcellino finally scrambled to his feet. Perez tried to load up the right hand but missed. Both swung and missed a few more times. Pere landed a kick. Marcellino caught it and tried to engage, but it was Perez scoring a takedown. He landed a big combo as Marcellino worked to his feet, then scored another takedown. Marcellino got to his knees and Perez took his back. He let him up, and landed a knee as he did. Perez landed a spinning back fist before re-engaging in the clinch. Perez landed a few elbows as he separated. Perez landed a good punch to the body. He knocked him off balance with a spinning back kick, but Marcellino popped up. Perez missed another spinning kick. He connected on a right hand before the horn.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Perez. Easy fight in his favor. Marcellino's got a chin on him, which kept this fight going to the end.

WINNER: Perez via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

STAR RATING: (*+) One-sided fight. Marcellino was just tough enough to take the abuse.


FIGHT TWO: ISAIAH CHAPMAN VS. TIMUR VALIEV (BANTAMWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Both fighters tested out the range with kicks early. They clashed with a couple of simultaneous kicks. Valiev went high with a kick that was partially blocked. Chapman missed a couple of kicks. Valiev landed a hard body kick. Valiev popped in and out with some kicks. Chapman rushed forward and landed a right hand. Chapman tried to shoot in, but Valiev held him off and landed a hard knee. Valiev landed a good kick to the body. Valiev grazed Chapman with a head kick, then tried to defend a takedown. Chapman held onto him, then pulled guard with a guillotine attempt. He was high up and Valiev popped his head out. Valieve landed a few strikes. He stepped over into half guard. Valiev went for the arm triangle, then used it to pass to back mount. Chapman's nose started bleeding. Valiev went for a choke but couldn't get under the chin. He landed several big strikes. Chapman tried to cover up. Valiev landed a couple of body strikes. He continued to throw strikes, but as Chapman was able to cover up, he survived to the horn.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Valiev. Did lots of damage late in the round, needs to find a way to get the finish there, though.

ROUND TWO: They traded kicks again. Valiev opened up with a few hard kicks to the body. Valiev missed a spinning back kick and Chapman tried to take his back. Valiev snuck out and got free. Valiev landed a left hook. Valiev landed another right hand. Chapman's attacks all got blocked. Valiev landed another brutal boydy kick. Chapman caught a kick but Valiev got free. Valiev continue landed kicks. He landed a hard punch with a body kick behind it. Valiev landed a nice short forearm. Valiev landed another hard leg kick. He went for a front kick to the face, but it was caught and Chapman again tried to drive him back. Valiev got himself free. Chapman again tried for a counter takedown, but it was Valiev again countering to take position. He then scored a takedown, landing some big strikes from the top. Chapman got to his feet but ate another big punch at the horn.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Valiev. Not quite enough damage for a 10-8, but this fight is completely in Valiev's corner right now.

ROUND THREE: Slow, tentative start to the round. Valiev tossed out a body kick. Valiev tripped Chapman up and quickly passed to half guard. Valiev landed body strikes. He tried to open up with punches to the face as well. Valiev continued to work from the top. He landed a big elbow. Valiev tried to work to an arm triangle, but Chapman gave up his back to avoid it. Valiev tried to look for an opening, occasionally throwing strikes to try to open things up. Chapman continued holding position, throwing some body strikes as well. Chapman just kept covering up and Valiev kept throwing strikes. Valiev was doing as much as he could from the back mount. Awkward moment as Chapman pounded his fist on the mat, but it wasn't actually a tap. Regardless, Valiev ends the round on top.

WINNER: Valiev via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26)

STAR RATING: (*+) Another completely one-sided fight with only a few spots where it looked like like a finish could come.


FIGHT THREE: KEON CALDWELL VS. OZZY DUGULUBGOV (LIGHTWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Caldwell took the outside. They clashed about 30 seconds in and Caldwell scored a takedown. Dugulubgov went for a leg lock, but Caldwell stepped out and passed to mount. Dugulubgov reversed, though, and tried to score his own takedown. He drove Caldwell to the cage in the clinch, and backed off with a few strikes. Dugulubgov was bleeding from the nose. Both missed windmill right hands. Caldwell threw a push kick. Dugulubgov drove in with a takedown attempt. Caldwell got his back to the cage and tried to pull himself up, but Dugulubgov dragged him back down. The action stalled significantly on the ground. Dugulubgov landed some strikes as Caldwell tried to get up. Dugulubgov turned back for a leg lock, but Caldwell swept out of it and got to his feet. They traded big strikes. Caldwell landed a right and they clinched again. They stalled out in the clinch to the horn.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Dugulubgov. Not a ton to the round, but Dugulubgov had a slight edge.

ROUND TWO: Caldwell moved forward and landed a leg kick. Dugulubgov barely missed a right hand. Dugulubgov went for a spinning head kick that went over Caldwell's head. Caldwell landed a good kick, but Dugulubgov rushed in with a short flurry. Caldwell shot in and Dugulubgov stuffed it at the cage. They traded strikes to break out of the clinch. Caldwell tried to stalk, but Dugulubgov did a solid job circling away and not getting cornered. Dugulubgov timed a nice counter, but Caldwell took it. Dugulubgov shot in, picked Caldwell up, and slammed him into side control. Caldwell powered to his knees and Dugulubgov took his back. He got in a knee to the body as Caldwell got to his feet. He dragged him back down, but Caldwell again got to his feet. After some clinch work, Dugulubgov got another takedown with 20 seconds left in the round. He rode out the round on top.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Dugulubgov. Caldwell just not having much success in this fight.

ROUND THREE: Dugulubgov landed a good spinning kick to the body. Dugulubgov landed a few hard punches against the cage, but Caldwell backed him off with a counter right. Dugulubgov landed a body kick. Dugulubgov landed a couple of strikes. Dugulubgov landed a brutal counter right as Caldwell was swinging at him and Caldwell went down and out. Nasty KO. Caldwell missed an uppercut and just took the whole power of that right hand on the jaw. Brutal. He slammed his head on the mat, eyes rolled back, the whole nine. Ouch.

WINNER: Dugulubgov via KO at 1:38 of the third round

STAR RATING: (**) Completely skippable fight, but must-see finish. That's absolutely a highlight-reel KO.


MAIN EVENT FIGHT FOUR: MARLON MORAES VS. CODY BOLLINGER (140 LB. CATCHWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Moraes caught an early kick and landed a counter. He walked Bollinger down. Moraes barely missed an overhand right. Bollinger landed a straight kick to the body. Moraes grazed him with a left hand. He again went to the short hook that just missed its home. Bollinger threw a spinning kick to the body. Moraes kept the pressure up as Bollinger tried to circle on the outside. Bollinger shot in, Moraes sidestepped, and landed several strikes. He dropped down and passed to side control. Bollinger landed a strike from his back before Moraes stood up and let him back up. Moraes landed a nice left hand. He connected with a right. Bollinger had a mouse under his left eye. Moraes again just barely missed a huge strike. Moraes caught a kick and landed a nice right hand. Moraes connected on a hard body kick. He landed a good leg kick as Bollinger overstepped. They traded punches. Moraes back to the body. Bollinger landed a couple of kicks. Bollinger threw a flying knee. Moraes got in a head kick at the bell.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Moraes. Clear fight for the better fighter. Bollinger's hanging in there, but seems like a matter of time at this point.

ROUND TWO: Bollinger pressed in early, but Moraes landed some big counter strikes. Moraes kept Bollinger at the cage. He stepped in with a leg kick. Moraes landed a hard left that dropped Bollinger. Moraes followed him down, but Bollinger tried to recover. Moraes tried to lock on a choke from half guard. He got his arm under the chin, locked Bollinger's arm behind him, and finished the choke essentially on the side, forcing the tap. Never seen a rear naked choke finished in quite that angle. More of a side choke. Another good highlight for Moraes, who I really hope we eventually get to see in the UFC.

WINNER: Moraes via submission (rear naked choke) at 1:35 of the second round

STAR RATING: (**+) Another one of those fights without a ton to see until the finish. Great performance from Moraes.
