DirecTV customers wishing to see some MMA action this weekend are out of luck, as the satellite carrier will not offer either Friday's Shine Fights event or Saturday's Shark Fights event.
The Shine Fights event was on the schedule, but with them forced to move from Virginia to Oklahoma, and the fact that the event is now unsanctioned and being held on tribal grounds, DirecTV chose to pull the event.
"We pulled it off the schedule given the possibility that the event may be canceled based on the last-minute venue change and we do not want to put our customers in the position having to get refunds," DirecTV said in a statement at MMAFighting.com.
Penick's Analysis: Well, more things working against Shine here this week. It's a shame DirecTV didn't have the Shark Fights event on the schedule at all, but maybe with taking Shine off on Friday they'll put Shark Fights on last minute for Saturday. That event at this point is the much better bang for your buck with both being priced at $29.99, and there aren't many, if any, that will pay for both.
