Despite earlier statements to the contrary, and a Dana White post-UFC 108 interview that perpetuated the rumor, M-1 Global President Vadim Finkelschtein says that they have not had any talks with the UFC "whatsoever."
In an official statement at M1Global.com, Finkelschtein states, "Today I heard the rumors of me allegedly stating on my twitter account that we are negotiating with the UFC. I want to state that there are no talks with the UFC whatsoever."
He continues, "Our partner in the USA is STRIKEFORCE, we are happy to cooperate with STRIKEFORCE. Fedor(Emelianenko) and Gegard (Mousasi) fight there and they are quite happy with the conditions and how they are treated with respect there. Finally, I don’t have any account on Twitter. The account that ignited the rumors is false. Our attorneys are already aware of the situation and shortly this fake account will be deleted."
So it would appear to be over before it really began, and the hope that maybe, just maybe, something was in the works appears to be completely unsubstantiated.

"There was a lot of poison going on around there and I'm really disappointed because we had a good thing going. It was a good thing and I think people's egos got in the way. Well, not people just Javier, his ego got in the way, and too many cameras in the gym and him trying to build himself up and his brand, his AKA brand...
