The March WSOF Lightweight Title bout between Justin Gaethje and Luis Palomino was one of the more exciting and wild fights of the year, so the WSOF has decided to book it again.
World Series of Fighting officials announced on Thursday that Gaethje vs. Palomino II will headline WSOF 23 from Phoenix, Ariz., on Sept. 18.
In addition to that title fight, the first WSOF Light Heavyweight Champion will be crowned, as Middleweight Champ Dave Branch takes on Teddy Holder in the finals of the mini-four-man tournament in the division.
"We are excited to return to Phoenix where we witnessed one of the most incredible fights in WSOF history earlier this year between Justin Gaethje and Luis Palomino, and to see them do it all over again," said WSOF President Ray Sefo in a press release. "Likewise, we look forward to crowning the first WSOF Light Heavyweight Champion in history and, based on their recent performances in our cage, David Branch and Teddy Holder should deliver a thrilling end to our historic tournament."
Tickets for the event go on sale this Saturday, July 11.
