Rousimar Palhares' next WSOF Title bout won't come until this summer at the earliest, as the welterweight is undergoing surgery on Friday, according to a report from MMAFighting.com.
Per the report, Palhares is undergoing an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee, and will start rehab next week.
Palhares will face fellow former UFC vet Jake Shields in his next Welterweight Title defense, which they're targeting for sometime this summer. Palhares has won all of his WSOF fights to date, most recently submitting Jon Fitch in December. Shields has now won two fights since joining the WSOF roster, most recently submitting Brian Foster in January.
