The World Series of Fighting will be bringing two title fights to Las Vegas in December for an NBC Sports Network card, but they'll be running up against the UFC on Fox 13 event for at least a portion of the broadcast.
According to a report from MMAFighting.com, WSOF 16 will hit the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Dec. 13, with Rousimar Palhares vs. Jon Fitch in the main event for the Welterweight Title, and Rick Glenn vs. Lance Palmer for the Featherweight Title.
The date and main event were already known, but the location and co-main event were just added today.
Glenn makes his first title defense after a win over Georgi Karakhanyan earlier this year, and in Palmer he fights the man whom Karakhanyan defeated in December to capture the title in the first place.
The WSOF card will air live on NBCSN from 9-11PM ET, running up against the last scheduled hour of the UFC on Fox 13 card, as well as any overrun for the event.
Penick's Analysis: These are certainly solid fights, but as competition to the UFC on network television, it's not likely to amount to much. Again, the fights themselves are just fine, but being in close proximity to the UFC event, both in terms of time and location, is likely to play against the card's success.
