The World Series of Fighting is creating a Heavyweight Championship for the organization, and the inaugural bout will feature Derrick Mehman against Smealinho Rama.
The organization announced on Wednesday that the fight is set for WSOF 14 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, on Oct. 11.
Rama is a 22-year-old Canadian fighter with an 8-1 record, who gets a title fight off a win over Steve Mocco in his WSOF debut in February.
He'll take on Mehman, who has won three fights in the organization. The 18-5 Iowa native has defeated Rolles Gracie, Scott Barrett, and Dave Huckaba in the WSOF thus far, leading to this fight.
The bout will serve as the co-main event under a middleweight bout between Jake Shields and Ryan Ford. The event will also feature a featherweight bout between Chris Horodecki and Luis Huete, as well as a light heavyweight bout between Misha Cirkunov and Teddy Holder.
