Cage Warriors 70 will go ahead tomorrow evening without the scheduled co-main event. Jake Bostwick vs. Philip Mulpeter has been removed from the card due to Bostwick being unable to make the 171 lbs welterweight limit.

Bostwick arrived at the CWFC hotel Thursday morning, weighing in at 194 lbs. This morning (Friday), after a day of cutting weight, Bostwick weighed in 182 lbs and was unable to cut any further. After discussions with the Mulpeter camp, they opted against taking the fight, which resulted in the fight being cancelled. Mulpeter was on weight at 169.9lbs shortly after 1PM, and will therefore receive his full fight purse.

"This is obviously a very unfortunate situation," said Cage Warriors CEO Graham Boylan. "It's disappointing for everyone, particularly Philip Mulperter, but also for Cage Warrior fans who have been looking forward to this fight for a long time."

The main event bout saw both fighters make the lightweight limit. Joseph Duffy tipped the scales at 155.3 lbs, whilst his opponent Damien Lapilus weighed in at 154.2 lbs. Alexis Savvidis vs. Paul Redmond has now been moved up to co-main event after the cancellation of Bostwick vs. Mulpeter.

Savvidis came in at 149.4 lbs whilst Redmond was bang on the lightweight limit at 156 lbs.

All further fighters made weight for their scheduled fights, and will all have the opportunity to earn extra money with the 'Bounty" bonus. CWFC have introduced a new bonus structure, where fighters can earn an extra £2,000 if they achieve and of the following 10 finishes:

Head-kick KO, twister, knee-bar, heel-hook, gogoplata, flying-knee KO, superman punch KO, KO in less than 60 seconds, spinning KO, slam KO.

The bantamweight clash between Martin Sheridan (135.9 lbs) and Dean Garnett (135.9 lbs) will now be moved up from the preliminary card to the main card following the cancellation.
