Cris "Cyborg" Justino will be attempting the drop to 135 lbs. this December, her first step in trying to get into a fight with UFC Champion Ronda Rousey.
According to Invicta FC President Shannon Knapp in an interview with MMAJunkie.com, a planned fight with Ediane Gomes has fallen through again due to injury, and as such, Cyborg will attempt the drop at Invicta FC 10 against an as of yet undetermined opponent.
The next step after that would be either another 135 lb. fight in Invicta, or a shift right over into the UFC for a fight with Rousey.
Penick's Analysis: Dana White opened up a bit more to the possibility of bringing her in last weekend, but she'll have to prove she can make the weight safely first, and she can work from there to get that fight with Rousey. If she makes it in December, and Rousey fights by year's end, putting them together in the Spring or Summer of 2015 would make a lot of sense.
