The Association of Boxing Commissions will indeed be contacting the Wyoming State Board of Mixed Martial Arts following their handling of Junior Maranhao's collapse last Friday at RFA 14.
ABC President Tim Lueckenhoff released a statement on Monday via BloodyElbow.com, expressing their concern with both the way the incident was handled on Friday, as well as Wyoming's response to inquiries regarding the matter in statements to several outlets, including MMATorch.
"As President of the ABC, I will personally be reaching out to the Wyoming Commission today," Lueckenhoff stated. "I will advise Wyoming to review their handling of this particular matter with ABC MMA Officials Training Chair Nick Lembo and ABC Medical Chair Dr. Sherry Wulkan. I will recommend that Wyoming makes all pertinent officials (ex. Referee, Inspector, Commission Supervisor, Ringside Physician) available to discuss this matter in full. The ABC has several concerns about the handling of this incident and the later public statement issued by Wyoming."
PENICK'S ANALYSIS: This absolutely has to be done, and thankfully the ABC has taken a serious look at this issue. Wyoming's response especially was concerning, because they were flat-out dishonest with how things played out on Friday. The ABC recognizes that, and they're thankfully doing something about it.
