WEC 47 is starting to shape up with a third fight now in the works to complement two major bantamweight fights on the main card. Jens Pulver will return for his sixth fight in the WEC to face off against Javier Vasquez, according to a report from MMAJunkie.com. Pulver, the former UFC Lightweight Champion, has only posted a 1-4 record since dropping to featherweight and joining the WEC roster. That one victory came in his WEC debut against Cub Swanson, and most recently he was submitted by Josh Grispi in the first round of their bout at WEC 41 in June. Vasquez has dropped two straight split decisions, snapping a four fight win streak. He will look to pick up his first victory in the WEC against the longtime vet in Pulver. WEC 47 airs live on Versus from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH, on March 6th, headlined by a Bantamweight Title bout between Brian Bowles and Dominick Cruz. Though with the way he's come close to retiring after both of his last two losses, until he walks away and stays away, it may just be a matter of time before he gets the itch again. This is a good chance for Vasquez to get exposure on Versus against a fighter with a definite name, and it should be a good, competitive bout between the two.
