By: Alex Williams, MMATorch Contributor Aleksander Emelianenko was denied a license to fight in California and he "will not be cleared" to fight in the state, according to Bill Douglas of the California State Athletic Commission on the Figure 4 Daily radio show. Consequently, this prohibits Emelianenko from fighting at any U.S. event with athletic commission oversight.
Douglas' statement lends credence to the rumor that Aleksander Emelianenko was denied a license to fight Paul Buentello at the July 19 Affliction show due to testing positive for Hepatitis B, not because of late "paper work" as Emelianenko claimed.
