The confirmation of Overeem as Hunt's opponent comes less than 72 hours before the start of the event. Hunt's original foe, fellow K-1 veteran Jerome Le Banner, bowed out of the match due to injuries. When no replacement was announced, it was assumed that Hunt had been removed from the card.
