In an interview this past weekend with Alex Marvez of Fox Sports Net, Randy Couture stated that if the courts rule against him and he is unable to get out of his UFC contract, then he is open to fighting "Minotauro" Nogueira and, preferably, Fedor Emelianenko in the UFC. This is a departure from Couture's previous rhetoric that he would retire before fighting in the UFC again.

In the July 29 Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), Dave Meltzer relays "independent estimates" of Affliction drawing 50,000 to 85,000 buys on PPV. This is a lower number than the 100,000+ buys claimed by Affliction VP Tom Atencio, and more in line with the 75,000 predicted by industry experts before the show. Meltzer cautions that "any numbers [this early] could only be considered rough estimates."
