Reality Fighting put on another great show at the Mohegan Sun Casino Uncasville, CT on Saturday night. The main card bouts were broadcast live on Blackbelt TV, and the arena was packed with fans supporting their favorite east coast fighters. Here is the play-by-play of the nights action.


Fight 1: Terin Swanson vs. Johnny Lopez

Round 1:

Swanson and Lopez exchange immediately and Lopez rushes in and takes Swanson down against the cage. Lopez is postured and landing big punches, but Swanson slaps on an arm bard pretty tight. Lopez lifts him up and shifts position to loosen the lock and ends up inside control. Swanson looks under for a heel hook, but Lopez gets up. They engage and Lopez takes him back down again. Swanson puts on a body lock and posts up to take his back with the body lock still intact. He flattens Lopez out and puts him in a rear naked choke. Lopez is forced to tap.

Winner: Terin Swanson via RNC - Rd 1 - 3:02


Fight 2: John Naples vs. Steve Carr

Naples opens up by attacking with hooks to the body. Carr returns with a combo, but nothing lands clean. Naples charges forward with looping punches backing Carr up to the cage. He works for a take down, but they end up clinching against the cage and Naples finds himself pressed against the cage. They exchange needs and work for better clinch control, and Naples switches pushing Carr to the cage. He lifts car up while in the clinch, but nothing comes of it. The clinch again the ref breaks them up. Naples lands a solid kick to Carr’s chin, and Carr returns. Carr stands with his hand down taunting and Naples throws a head kick that doesn’t do any noticable damage. Carr connects with a right. Naples lands one on Carr’s chin and then unloads a combo and it looks like Carr is in trouble, but he grabs a clinch. They break and Carr taunts again and the round ends with Naples pushing forward.

Round 2:

Carr is working is jab, and Naples throws a high kick that is blocked. Naples charges forward and backs Carr up. Carr throws a knee and Naples knocks him down with a straight left hand. Carr lays on his back and waits for Naples to get in guard. Naples obliges and lands some bi shots. He gets up and then jumps back to the mat for more ground and pound. Napes get sup again and the ref stands them up this time. Naples lands a big right and clinches. Carr taunts again. Naples ducks under a punch and lands a light hook. Both are locked on the cage. Naples breaks off and trows a combo and then picks up Carr and slams him. He works some ground and pound on Carr and gets up. The ref stops the clock and the doctor calls it off.

Winner: John Naples via Doctors Stoppage - Rd. 2


Fight 3: Leroy Derricott vs. Manny Torres

Round 1:

They touch gloves and try to find range. Torres lands a left and Derricott counters. Derricott is work his jab and then cuts an angel to get a hook. Derricott throws a leg kick and Torres checks it. Derricott shoots and takes him down. Torres has under-hooks and stalls Derricott from doing any damage. Derricott gets up and throws a leg kick that is checked. He repeats. She setting up his leg kicks with 1-2 combos.Toress lands a left. Derricott throws a kick to the mid section that is blocked. Torres leads in with a jab and swings a hard right but it is blocked. Torres throws a looping right hand and Derricott gets under it and takes Torres’s back while standing. He works Torres to the ground, and he gets his hooks in. He goes for the rear naked, but Toress defends. The ten second sound rings and Torres makes it to the end of the round.

Round 2:

Torres checks a kick. Derricott fires another low kick and and takes Torres’ legs right out from under him. He gets on top and lands some vicious ground and pound. Derricott improves his posture and unloads even more forcing the stoppage. He jumps off his opponent and almost lands on the ref.

Winner: Leroy Derricott via TKO - Rd. 2 - 1:09


Fight 4: Erik Lee vs. Andrew Carron

Round 1:

Lee throws an inside leg kick that does not do much. The circle and Lee lands throws a combo with a right hook finding the mark and they clinch. Carron advances position as Lee ends up on the grown. Lee works up and takes down Carron. Lee is working for the takingdown hard against the cage and Carron is trying to grab his neck. Lee will not give up and Carron lands a knew to Carrons face. Lee still holds on and picks up and Carron for a slam. Lee works to improve position and Carron posts out but Lee slaps on a triangle and goes for the arm too. Carron tries to poundd his way out and the round ends.


Round 2:

They dance in the center, and Lee drives in to take down Lee. Lee grabs an ove hook and stuffs Carron. He lands some big shots while he has Carron down. Carron gets up and takes top position. Lee sweeps. The ref stands them up and deducts a point from Carron for holding the fence. Carro shoots in immediately and Lee closes guard. Carron works some ground and pound, but lee throws up triangle. Carron is resisting, but Lee keeps it on. Carron picks him up with the lock still on and slams Lee to the ground. Lee holds on and forces the tap.

Winner: Erik Lee via Triangle Choke -Rd. 2 - 3:35


Fight 5: Miguel Santos vs. Kyle Rozewski

Round 1:

Santos throws a fierce le kick after some feeling out from both fighters. Then he clinches and lands a big knee to the body. Santos grabs a guillotine and jumps jumps guard with it. It looks tight, but Rozewski is not tapping. Rozewski is in card know and Santos is going for a kimura while he is being pushed to the cage. Rozewski gets his arms free and and strikes from the the top, but Santos ties him up again. Santos almost sweeks, but Rozewski keeps his position. Santos works and gets up and both mean are clinched. Rozewski takes him down, takes his back and works for a rear naked choke and the round ends. Saved by the bell.

Round 2:

Santos opens with a kick that is blocked and both mean keep testing their range. Santos lands a jab and moves in with a combo, but no real damage is done. He swings wildly with a right hook, but Rozewski ties him up and takes him down. Santos uses the cage to push off and sweep Rozewski. Santos almost gets swept himself, but he gets side control and goes for a kimura. Santos gets mount and and starts to work ground and pound, but Rozewski tries to grab a leg and they scramble. As they get up Santos lands some big knees to Rozewski head. Rozewski is holding on while he pressed against the cage. The bell rings as both mean crash to te mat.

Round 3:

Santos takes a kick to the body while throwing a jab that knocked Rozewski down. Santos moves in to strike, and Rozewski ties him up. Santos cannot pass guard, but he is working in strikes. Santos postures up and throws an elbow. Rozewski is rolled up against the cage. He is controlling Santos’ head, but Santos still lands some elbows. Rozewski tries to go for a triangle, but Santos postures and continues to work elbows. Santos starts to lay it on heavy and he is swept by Rozewski. Santos holds on until the end of the round.

Winner: Miguel Santos via Unanimous Decision (29-28x3)


Fight 6: Brandon Rooney vs. Matt Tuthill

Round 1:

Both exhange and work back to the cage. Rooney works for a take down and lifts Tuthill up for a slam. Rooney works some strikes from the top. Rooney is in side control, and he ends up in half guard. Tuthill sweeps and Rooney attempts a triangle. Now Rooney sweeps and is n top. Rooney get Tuthill down and works to take his backs up and Tuthill stays on his back and Rooney dives back down an lands some rights to the ribs as the bell rings.


Round 2:

Tuthill opens with a low kick and then rear leg round house. Rooney blocks and takes his back. Both hooks are in. Rooney forces the tap and celebrates with a hilarious dance.

Winner Brandon Rooney via RNC Rd. 2 - 1:47


Fight 7: Mike Berby vs. Jason Ward

They touch gloves and dance around the center of the cage. Ward opens up fisrt and has Berby backing up. Berby ducks and Ward lands a kick to the head. Ward is riding his bike backwards, but he is taking some shots. Ward smells blood and swarms. He has Berby against the cage and he is thrown kicks and and punches in bunches. Berby backs to another corner of the cage and Ward blitzes him finishing the fight in quick fashion. That was fierce.

Winner: Jason Ward via TKO - Rd 1 - :43


Fight 8: Chris Simmons vs. Kevin Roddy

Round 1:

Roddy lands a left straight. They feel each other out and Roddy lands a another left. Simmons throws a kick, and Roddy checks it.Simmons moves in with a left followed by a right and roddy grabs a clinch. Simmons gains control of the clinch and takes him down with a nice hip toss. Simmons stands up and Roddy keeps kicking his leg and upkicking from his back. Simmons gets back on top and throws illegal knees. The ref stops it and gives Roddy time to recover from the grounded knee to the head. The restart and Roddy lans a nice combo, and follows with another one. Simmons takes him down. Roddy goes for a guillotine, but he does not get it. The ref stands them up for inactivity. The ref stops it again so Simmons can have his mouthguard cleaned off and put back in. The start yet again and roddy lands some a nice right to the mouth and pushes forward with a combo. They clinch as the bell rings.


Round 2:

Roddy opens up with 1-2 combos and then throws in a front kick to the thigh. Simmons runs in with a telegraphed shot, but he eventually gets a slam. Roddy sweeps and gets mount and attempts to strike and transitions in to side control. Roddy is throwing elbows and ends up in Simmons guard. Simmons ties up his limbs, but Roddy gets out. Simmons throws up a triangle that grabs Roddy’s head, but Roddy easily shrugs the attempts and works from the side. Simmons then goes for a bravo choke and starts walking it, but Roddy gets free and on top. Roddy attempts a heel hook as they scramble and he ends up taking a Simmons back. Roddy starts throwing elbows and the ref deducts a point for one near the spine. The round ends before any real action happens.


Round 3:

Roddy comes in with a kick and then he starts throwing combos with his hands and they tie up and go to the ground. Roddy stays on top and works some ground and pound. Roddy gets side control. Simmons gets him back and guard and lands an up kick when Roddy stands up in an attempt to strike. Roddy is back in Simmons guard and they are working, but not really trying to pass guard. Simmons tries to put on a triangle, but Roddy is posturing and the bell rings.

Winner: Kevin Roddy by Decission (29-28, 30-27, 30-27)


Fight 9: Dwight Grant vs. Eddie Saldana

Round 1:

Grant is the aggressor throwing jabs and kicks to back up Saldana. Saldana lands a leg kick and Eddie lands a leg kick and and then clinches.

Saldana grabs a leg and tries to take Grant down, but Grant pushes him off and tries to strike. Saldana is bleeding now. Grant takes him down down and unloads from the top, bu Saldana survues survives. Grant then levels Saldana with a right hand and Grant pounds away, but somehow Saldana gets up and charges forward going for takedowns.

Round 2:

Saldana comes back out and he starts landing shots to Grants head, andGrant is pickin his hots more carefully. Grant missies a head kick, and Saldana starts moving forward. Grant fires in with a right to slow him down, and then they ties up and break. Saldana spins as if he was throwing a back elbow and quickly turns back around as Grant could have taken his back. Now both men are circling. They tie up and Grant throws a elft right and then a knee to the ribs. Saldon lands a jab and grabs a leg, but Grant punches his way out of the takedown. Grant takes Saldana down but he works back up.Grant lands a big left hook and thena kick to the body followed by another hook. Saldana takes some punishment and the bell could not have rang fast enough.

Round 3:

Saldana moves in with a combo and Grant blocks the shots and almost takes Saldana’s back as he spins. Grant pushes Saldana to the ground and lets him get back up. Grant unloads with lefts and rights and then four big knees from the clinch to the face force the refs to stop it.

Winner: Dwight Grant via TKO (knees) Rd. 3 - 1:22


Fight 10: Domenic Gagliardi vs. Alexandre Moreno

Round 1:

Gagliardi test his range with a jab. Moreno throws a right and then shoots in and tries to take Gagliardi. He lifts Gagliardi, and then sweeps his legs out and gets a fierce takedown. He works to keep him down and as Gagliardi tries to get back up, he slams him down again. Now on top he strikes and tries to end it there. He takes his Gagliardi back as they stand, and then slams him back on the ground. He gets his back again and gets his hooks in and forces a tap with a deep rear naked choke.

Winner: Moreno via RNC Rd. 1 3:25
