"I’m doing physical therapy, taking care of my knee. I hope I’ll be fully recovered by June and I’ll be back to fights in September or October. The recovery is really well... I can’t talk about this project right now, but there’s a connection between me and the UFC now, something concrete that I didn’t have before. My return will be in the end of the year and will be in the UFC. I’ll be worried about my performance, my knee and my body. I wanna do my best in every fight. I’m used to big competition like the UFC, I wanna be ready."
-Ricardo Arona, one of the top light heavyweights in the history of the sport, talks to Tatame.com about plans to make his first appearance in the Octagon by year's end.
Penick's Analysis: Arona injured his knee in September in a victory over Marvin Eastman in Brazil. That was the first time he had ever fought outside of Japan, and if this does come to fruition he'll have a number of potential opponents that would make for great, great fights in the UFC. We've definitely got something to look forward to already for the last part of 2010 on the MMA schedule, and this will be an exciting addition to an already stacked light heavyweight roster.
