Aug 9, 2009 - 3:48:06 PM By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief "I hit him with everything I had, hard elbows, and he kept calling me more names. He was a tough kid. It kind of made me keep on track to just keep doing what I was doing, stick to my game plan and stop listening to Josh call me so many mean names. I actually slapped him in the face because he kept calling me a bitch. He was like 'You hit like a bitch.' I'm like all right. And I stood up and slapped him. I go 'Now you just got hit like one.'"
-Kurt Pellegrino at the UFC 101 post fight press conference about his victory to kick off the pay-per-view.
Penick's Analysis: It was one of the more entertaining exchanges during the fight, where you could see Neer jawing from the bottom before Pellegrino laid out the slap. Rogen and Goldberg even commented on it during the broadcast. Regardless of the fact that Pellegrino wasn't able to do much damage on the ground, Neer wasn't able to get off his back for much of the fight. It was a well fought fight by Pellegrino and unfortunately for Neer he couldn't do anything to get out off of the ground despite a valiant effort at slapping on a few submissions. Pellegrino was simply too relentless.

I am very nervous that Carlos Condit will win on Saturday night, and that I won't be able to fight Nick Diaz this summer. Carlos Condit is a very good fighter, he can strike, he is aggressive and he has submissions...
Georges St-Pierre is the only logical choice for Sonnen, since he's made it clear to the world at large that Anderson Silva wants nothing to do with him. And since everything that comes out of Chael's mouth when hyping a fight can be taken as gospel...
