"I'm not going to discuss the UFC too much with the media. But I will say that when they show me terms I like, I'll sign... Money is important but it isn't everything. There are some conditions they have that I don't like. But like I said, when the terms are right I will sign right away."

-Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion Alistair Overeem talks to Fighter's Only Magazine about his thoughts on the possibility of signing with the UFC.

Penick's Analysis: Overeem would definitely be a welcome addition to the UFC's heavyweight roster, but it's an interesting line of thinking to hear out of him, at least from Strikeforce's perspective. They've just got to love the fact that one of their Champions, and I use that term very loosely, is essentially openly stating that if the UFC came to him with certain terms he'd jump ship no questions asked. Now, the simple fact is he hasn't fought for them as it is in over two years, and with the addition of Fedor Emelianenko to the roster he's really only a paper champion in the eyes of most observers. That said, the article does state he may be defending his Strikeforce belt in April, which, if they put his bout on CBS with Fedor's fight against Fabricio Werdum on there as well, will make an even bigger mockery of his belt as they will put Fedor in the main event. Fans want to see Overeem fight serious MMA competition, and recently he hasn't been with his bouts in Japan along with him taking time out of MMA competition to fight for K-1. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the UFC by 2011, as he may decide to fight out whatever fights he has left with Strikeforce, and if he does well, and gets his bout with Fedor, the UFC and he may be able to come to terms he'd deem acceptable.
