Bellator 123 comes to you live from Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Uncasville, CT.

Fight 1:Heavyweight Division - Lavar Johnson vs. Cheick Kongo

Round 1:
The touch gloves and Johnson takes the center of the cage. He throws some big shots that miss. Then he connects and he knocks Kongo around the cage with a series of dizzying shots, but Kongo recovers and takes Johnson down. Those were some heavy shots, but Kongo gets his whits about him and works a top game that is light on strikes. He mounts Johnson and does little with it. He gets wrist control and lands some strikes while Johnson is flat on his back. The crowd is booking, but they change up as Johnson tries to get up. Kongo quickly takes his back and slaps on a rear naked choke and forces the tap.

Winner: Cheick Kong defs. Lavar Johnson via Rear Naked Choke - Rd. 1 - 3:27


Fight 2:Heavyweight Division - Josh Burns vs. Bobby Lashley

Round 1:
Both mean touch globes and Lashley lunges in with an overhand right. Burns throws a strike and they lock horns. Lashley gets a heavy takedown from the clinch. He works to side mount, and it looks like he is going for choke, but instead he goes for an armbar. Burns looks like he is in trouble, but defends. Lashley again with an armbar and escapes again. Lashley lands elbows to the face from the tob. He traps Burns' arm and works for an armbar on the other. Lashley lands a strike before going for a keylock that turns into an armbar again. Side control is not working out for Burns on the bottom. He almost gets up, but Lashley postures and lands a strike. Burns makes it to the bell.

Round 2:
They are back to the center of the cage and Burns is red and breathing heavy. Lashley is testing the waters with his jab and then just misses a shot. He grazes Burns with another shot. Burns throws a shot, and then Lashsley connects to his ear a few times. Lashley with a takedown and he gets side control and then mount. Lashley lands some heavy punches and Burns tries to get up. Lashley takes his back and lands massive shots to a turtled Burns. Burns tries to get up and Lashley locks on a rear naked choke as Burns stands up. Burns taps with Lashley on his back.

Winner: Bobby Lashley defs. Josh Burns via Rear Naked Choke - Rd. 2 - 3:54


Fight 3:Middleweight Division - Tamdan McCroy vs. Brennan Ward

Round 1:
They touch gloves and Ward opens with a two-piece combo. McCroy lands a shot and then follows up with a flurry of sniper accurate shots and knock Ward out! (Statement made!)

Winner: Tamdan McCroy defs. Brennan Ward via Technical Knockout- Rd. 1 - 0:22


Fight 4:Light Heavyweight Division - Dustin Jacoby vs. King Mo

Round 1:
They touch gloves and Mo takes the center. They are feeling each other out and then Mo shoots and gets the takedown. He is landing stiff ground and pound. Jacoby tries to strike from his back and get up. Mo stops that and continues his top game. Jacoby gets up and Mo catches his kick, drags him and than lands a a shot to the head and gets on top. Jacoby works his way back up against the cage and Mo throws a big hook that misses. Jacoby is trying to find the range. Mo misses with another big shot. Jacoby with a push kick. Mo taunts him and lands a over hand. Jacoby punches him and Mo pretends he has wobbly legs to the crowds laughter and dismay. He shoots and Jacoby shrugs it off while Mo slips punches. Jacoby kicks and Mo catches it again and he drags him again and Mo tries to throw a punch as the bell rings. A lot of taunting in this round. So far so good though.

Round 2:
Mo opens with a jab. Again, and then Mo lands a fast one in the check. They are throwing leather, heavy. Combos all over the place. Mo is against the cage and lands big shots that put Jacoby down. Mo swarms on top and lands right hand after hand, and an elbow, and more right hands from the top. The ref waves it off after giving Jacoby a chance to stay in it. Mo was fast with his hands and footwork n both rounds, but in the second specifically.

Winner: King Mo defs. Dustin Jacoby - Rd. 1 via Technical Knockout - 1:13

***They break to have Stephan Bonnar Challenge Tito Ortiz in the style of WWE. He brings a a masked man on stage to unveil while he insults Tito and Tito responds with comments like you would expect. There is a minor scuffle and the cage cleared after everyone helped.***


Fight 5: Featherweight Championship Bout - Pat Curran vs. Patricio Pitbull

Round: 1
Curran takes the center of the cage and tests rang with a missed leg kick. He throws another. Another, then Pitbull returns with two that connect. The first one firm and the second glancing. Pitbull throws a hook and Curran counters with a combo. Curran stalks Pitbull and then gets pushed back and almost falls. Very few strikes are thrown, but the footwork on display is top notch, but the crowd is not having it. Curran moves in with a combo that misses. Curran connects to the body, but Pitbull rushes from the fence and shoots. He takes the back and get Curran down, but Curran pops back up with a knee and a punch. Pitbull backs off. Curran takes the center and Pitbull throws a head kick. Not much happened. This round seemed to be longform feeling out process.

Round 2:
Curran catches Pitbull as he slips. They clinch and Curran throws a fast combo from there but Pitbull counters and breaks. Pitbull lands a strong leg kick. The ref and the camera man keep obstructing my view, so I missed a few strikes. They clinch and Curran breaks with a body to the knee. Picbull knocks Curran down with a punch. Pitbull swarms and Curran recovers. He peppers Pitull and lands a knee that seems to rock Pitbull. They break up and both are exchanging shots back and forth. Pitbull with a leg kcik. (The feeling out process is over.) Pitbull with another kick, and Curran counters with a right to face. Pitbull with a righ to the body. Curran with a left hook and then a flying knee. The bell rings and the ref stops Curran from throwing anoter strike.

Round 3:
They lockup and then break. Pitbull misses with a flying knee. Curran lands a jab. Then a right hook to the body. Pitbull lands with a right and Curran defends and returns a combo. Pitbull drops a heavy leg kick and Curran returns a right. They clinch and break with Curran just missing aright hook. Pitbull rocks Curran and knocks him against the cage. He then takes Curran down and Curran quickly works back to his feet. Curran is slowing down. They exchange kicks. Currn shoots and misses a bit Curran hits the cage. Curran shoots again and he misses.They exchange combos as the bell rings.

Round 4:
Curran wakes up and trows a combo that ends with a flying knee. . Pitbull is using his footwork, but Curran is establishing his jav and using combos. The left hook is working for Curran. Pitbull throws a right that misses. Curran is landing his jab. Then a counter hook. Curran jumps in with a lead hook. Both men are attempting combos and Pitbull is landing the cleaner shots.Pitbull with a kigh kcik that Curran blocks. they clinch and Curran breaks with a knee. Pitbull slips and tags Curran. Curran counters. Curran starts a combo with an uppercut, but nothing lands. The combos start landing at the ten second mark. The bell rings.

Round 5:
Curran starts off with his hands Pitbull takes him down. Curran sweeps and gets mount. Pitbull tries to get up and Curran drags him down momentarily. Pitbull gets up. Curran is looking stronger this round. They work combos and then Pitbull ROCKS Curran again and swarms. Curran gets back in it, but Pitbull is slipping the punches and landing his. Curran eats two big shots and then returns fire. Pitbull shoots and almost gets the take down but Curran shrugs it off. They duke it out with fifteen seconds left and Pitbull lights Curran up as the bell rings. Wow!

Winner: Patricio Pitbull defs. Patt Curran via Unanimous Decision

That was a great showing by Pitbull. Curran was game, but he seemed to just not have enough in the tank. Well that is it for tonight. It was an exciting night of fights. Check back for coverage of the next Bellator event.
